Make it Home Initiative
An Overview
A house becomes a home through comfort, dignity, and the memories made within its walls. DDM's Make It Home Initiative exists to ensure that the adults with developmental disabilities who call our residential homes home have safe, welcoming, and enriching living environments where they can thrive.
While Medicaid funding helps cover essential care and support services, it does not provide for many of the items that transform a residence into a true home. Through Make It Home, DDM works to meet these needs by providing home enhancements, furnishings, appliances, accessibility improvements, outdoor gathering spaces, décor, and other quality-of-life upgrades that foster comfort, independence, and belonging.
