In response to the growing needs of churches for assistance in welcoming people with disabilities, DDM developed the Church Services Department. This is a resource for churches and all who want to minister to people with special needs and their families.

Upon request, staff provide a free workshop for those who want to learn about starting ministries related to people with disabilities. (Call 1-888-340-5820 to schedule.) An Opening New Worlds conference is presented every Spring to provide education, fellowship and support to churches, parents and teachers who want to begin or strengthen a ministry to people with special needs.

Church Services also works with DDM Facilities Management to encourage churches to adopt mission projects at the various DDM residences. With locations in Metro-Atlanta, Statham, Augusta, Bainbridge, Forsyth, Manchester, and Canton, there are ample opportunities to minister to DDM residents by helping to improve their homes and developing meaningful relationships.

A Special Family Retreat for families who have children with developmental disabilities was established in 2010 as an annual summer event designed to provide ministry, resources, education, support, fun and fellowship.
