In response to the growing needs of churches for assistance in welcoming people with disabilities, DDM developed the Church Services Department. This is a resource for churches and all who want to minister to people with special needs and their families.

Church Services also works with DDM Facilities Management to encourage churches to adopt mission projects at the various DDM residences. With locations in Metro-Atlanta, Statham, Augusta, Bainbridge, Forsyth, Manchester, and Canton, there are ample opportunities to minister to DDM residents by helping to improve their homes and developing meaningful relationships.

In addition, an annual Opening New Worlds conference is planned to provide a variety of helpful workshops on topics such as ministering to families, respite care, curriculum, accessibility, etc. The next Conference is scheduled on March 19-20, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Griffin.

A Special Family Retreat for families who have children with developmental disabilities will be scheduled at Epworth by the Sea on June 25-27, 2010. This will be a time of ministry to families, fun, support, and fellowship.
